Lakeuden kasvot

Nivalan liikuntakeskuksen yhteyteen suunnitelltu laaja teoskokonaisuus kantaa teemaa lakeus ja joki. Tekoprosessi oli osallistava, kaupunkilaisten kasvoprofiileja kuvattiin ja ne tulivat osaksi tarinaa. Yhteisössä järjestettiin myös haikurunotapahtuma, jonka tuotoksista irroitin sanoja sisäaulan teokseen. Teoskokonaisuus sisältää 10 kpl teräsveistoksia (kuhilaat ja seipäät), hallin ulkoseinään asennetut kasvoprofiilit, ulkopenkit, valokuvapohjaisia ikkunateippauksia lasipintoihin ja maalausinstallaation.

The large-scale work complex designed for the Nivala sports center carries the theme of expanse and river. The creation process was participatory. I photographed 50 volunteers and their facial profile became part of the story. The community also organized a haiku poetry event, and from the poems I extracted words for the installation indoors. The work complex includes 10 steel sculptures (sheaves and haystacks), facial profiles installed on the outer wall of the hall, outdoor benches, photo-based window tapes on glass surfaces and a painting installation.
